MONTE PELMO TOP
Climbing to the top of Monte Pelmo
From Venezia Hut (1.946 mt) you have to climb the scree towards north-west at the basis of the east and climb a small wall with steps of light rocks (2.191 mt; h. 0,20) that in a short time brings you to the characteristic ledge pass horizontally the east wall.
To pass it on the rocks towards south on the tracks of a path, passing the recess of three gorges to the entering of the Valòn. At the entering of the 3rd gorge you find a path and once passed being bended (Passo del Gatto), under a difficult protusion, nowadays it is completely exposed and easy to pass with good grips. Climb the deep valley following a gravel path and then with simple steps towards north-west and climb on the terrace of the upper snow clad in correspondence of the western path mt. 2.800 under the top of the east shoulder. You have to climb diagonally the snow clad (nowadays quite disappeared) towards west, join the western part to its maximum area of depression 3.000 mt. and going to NNE to the top on the peak or a little on the right of it (exposed path) to the top (h. 3,30 from the starting point).
