In 1987 at Mondeval De Sora, a place situated at 2.150 mt. on sea level in S. Vito Country, was found a Mesolitic Grave that had a quality of preservation quite untouched.
Under a large stone, detached in the late Ice Wurmian age from the Formin Lastoni, a high altitude Mesolitic site, that was subject of interest by scholars from 1.985, brought to light the untouched skeleton of an hunter of the Stone age of quite 8.000 years ago. In the scientific field it was a worldwide discover, because it is the first time that at such altitudes you can find a burial of this age, without telling about the perfect way of preservation of the organic findings in a Mesolitic site situated over 2.000 mt on sea level. Such research, and the finding in Val Rosna of the burial site of Similarium mummy, show a high presence in the Alps of pre-historical men. The original skeleton and the several flint hand made and bone found in the burial site, can be observed at the Archaeological museum of Selva di Cadore.
